Dr Muhammad Waseem is an Assistant Professor in Business Analytics at the School of Business, Maynooth University. His research focuses on sustainable energy systems, smart grids, distributed energy resources, demand-side flexibility, data analytics, and the application of AI/ML and digital technologies to support sustainable business models and digital transformation. His work bridges engineering, business analytics, and digital innovation, with particular interest in energy systems optimisation, prosumer behaviour, digital twins, energy communities, and data-driven decision-making for low-carbon and resilient energy systems. His research aligns with IVI’s focus on digital transformation, technology adoption, value creation, and industry-relevant innovation, particularly in the areas of Smart Cities and Regions, sustainable service ecosystems, and data-enabled organisational decision-making.
