Kolawole is a member of the Maynooth International Engineering College at Maynooth University, where he leads the SocialAI Research Group. Prior to joining Maynooth, he was a Marie Curie Research Fellow at Dublin City University. He holds a PhD in Computer Science, funded through the Erasmus Mundus Fellowship.

Dr. Adebayo’s research interests lie in Natural Language Processing (NLP), particularly in low-resource settings, and the broader field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). He is especially focused on high-societal-impact applications in areas such as Law, Human Resources, and Healthcare, with a specific interest in medical diagnostics and precision medicine.

In addition to his work in applied AI, Dr. Adebayo is also engaged in research on AI Ethics and a range of NLP applications, including Large Language Models (LLMs), Multimodal AI, Machine Translation, Social Media Analytics, and Sentiment Analysis,  with a particular interest in the commercialization of research.
