Bio

Dr. Iris Junglas is the Noah T. Leask Distinguished Professor of Information Management and Innovation in the School of Business at the College of Charleston, USA. She is an awardee of the Fulbright (2018) and DAAD (1999, 2015) scholarship programs. Over her 25-year career, Iris has worked for both academia and a variety of consulting firms, inside and outside the US.

Iris’ scholarship is innovative and sits at the intersection of technology innovation and business analytics. Over the past 25 years, she has studied mobile commerce, virtual worlds, social networks, IT consumerisation, IT disaster relief, textual analytics, IoT, low-code-no-code, and digital transformations, to name a few. She has published more than 110 articles, of which more than 60 appear in peer-reviewed journals, including Decision Support Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Information & Management, Information and Organization, Information Systems Journal, Journal of the Association of Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems and Management Information Systems Quarterly 

Iris is currently the Editor-in-Chief for MIS Quarterly Executive, AIS’ only practitioner-oriented journal, and a Senior Editor of the European Journal of Information Systems.

She is also the author of numerous case studies, most of which have been made freely available for classroom use. Iris has taught at the undergraduate, graduate, PhD, and executive level, inside and outside the US, in English and in German. She is a past recipient of FSU’s graduate teaching award for her work with MBA students.

Iris joined the College of Charleston in 2019, following positions on the faculties of Florida State University and the University of Houston. Over her career, she has also worked for a variety of consulting firms, including PricewaterhouseCoopers and Accenture. Iris received her PhD in Management Information Systems with a Minor in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Georgia (USA) and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Koblenz in Germany.
